How To Use Long Tail Keywords in ASO

October 13, 2015Kadir Soner Şensoy

Within the millions of apps there are a lot of cool applications and they stay in silence. Ad campaigns require great marketing budgets and most of the app owners have little or no budget at all. ASO is the cheapest yet the strongest weapon in the market to increase visibility. Choosing the best keywords is the hardest part in a perfect ASO. If one can achieve to rank in top 10 for relevant keywords or combination of keywords that also have organic traffic, then you start to be seen by engaged users who will definitely download your app and be your life time customer.

Most people think it is not a good strategy to choose high traffic score keywords (high competition) since it is very hard to rank. However there is a possibility to rank in the combination of those keywords and they may not have hard competition at all.

We will try to give an example by looking below the top 100 apps that rank in the combination of very good keywords and they rank top 10 for that. We chose the scariest category, Social Networking US IPhone, to make this post reliable.
There are many networking apps in this category, one can easily imagine. Connected2.me is just one of them. You can check this cool app here.

They have a really good title in terms of ASO.

People also search in the app store with long tail keywords. For example “teen chat” combination has a search traffic of 44 that is this combination brings you substantial traffic if you achieve to rank in top 10. Let’s take a look how Connected2.me is doing great with this combination.
